Polished concrete is the slab itself, ground, hardened and polished, so there’s nothing on top to peel or chip. Epoxy and polyaspartic coatings add a seamless layer in a solid color, metallic or flake finish. They’re a great fit for garages, shops and showrooms. See polished samples in our Zuni St showroom or have us out to look at your slab, its condition and what you have in mind.

Assess & quote
We check the slab for cracks, old coatings and moisture, then send a clear, itemized quote and timeline.

Prep & repair
We remove glue and old coatings, fill cracks and joints, and protect walls, doors and fixtures.
04
Grind & hone
Diamond grinders take the floor down to the exposure you chose, then finer and finer passes smooth it out.
05
Densify, polish & seal
We harden the surface, add any color, polish to your sheen and finish with a protective guard, then walk the floor with you.

Great overall experience with 5280 Floors. Special thanks to Chris, Scott, Eli, John, and Alan for taking great care of everything and installing the flooring beautifully. I really appreciated the daily updates, and they finished the job faster than I expected. The whole process was stress-free, and the showroom team was knowledgeable and helpful. They even offered to come back and correct anything they might have missed which is huge for a company to offer that especially something like floors

Outstanding experience with 5280 Floors! From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to work with. We finished a project with Scott and 5280. The quality of the experience was top notch. From the initial consultation and workup through the whole process we were very happy. They have been excellent to work with including some mid-construction disruptions which they handled with grace and kept excellent communication throughout. I am especially impressed with how they handle the relationship at the end of the project, happy to drop by anytime to make sure everything comes out perfectly.

5280 Floors did an incredible job on our hardwoods! We had them refinished and they look like brand new. Ivan was fantastic-his work was flawless, and he even finished earlier than expected. Scott was great, keeping everything on track and making sure the project ran smoothly from start to finish. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend 5280 Floors to anyone!

5280 refinished my floors. They look fabulous. Although the original floors in my 1913 house did not come with hardwood floors, I had them installed in 1999. The refinish brings me back to “last century” quality after many years of Great Danes trotting around. The workers cleaned up the floors, closed off the rooms which were not included and returned my house in just a few days, well on schedule. If you need floor work, I’d recommend them highly.

How long does concrete polishing take?

Most commercial spaces are done in several days to a week, depending on the size of the space, the condition of the slab and the finish you choose. Homes are often quicker. We’ll give you a clear schedule at your consultation.

Can you polish the concrete floor I already have?

Usually, yes. Most sound slabs can be polished, even under old carpet glue, paint or coatings, and minor cracks can be filled as part of the job. We’ll look at your floor and tell you what’s possible before you commit.

Is polished concrete easy to maintain?

Very. Regular sweeping and an occasional damp mop are usually all it needs, with no waxing, stripping or recoating. A protective guard helps it resist stains and moisture, and with the right care the floor looks great for decades.

Is polished concrete slippery?

Not when it’s clean and dry; it’s a smooth floor, not a slick coating. For entries, kitchens and other areas that get wet, we can recommend a lower sheen or a slip-resistant treatment.

Yes. We use non-reactive, environmentally friendly dyes in one or more colors, then finish with a clear coat in a matte or glossy sheen. Patterns and logos are possible too.

It is. Polishing uses the slab you already have instead of adding new flooring material, and the US Green Building Council’s LEED program recognizes polished concrete as a green flooring option.
